Despite the good results of keratoplasty, these are still not optimal in many cases. There is therefore a tendency to avoid keratoplasty and, whenever possible, to replace it with less invasive and more controllable techniques. This session will include presentations of the most interesting approaches to this subject.

The ophthalmic industry is constantly innovating in the field of intraocular lenses. Monofocal and premium lenses are currently evolving towards a new type of lens which, without losing the advantages of monofocal lenses, increases near vision. Various techniques allow this result to be achieved. We analyse the existing evidence on these innovations and their immediate application in the clinic.

Capsular rupture is the most frequent complication of surgery in humans. Its frequency is underestimated and incompletely reported, but it can reach up to 10% of operated cases in certain low-resource settings or cases of special difficulty. The session is aimed at the prevention and treatment of its complications. This session is of interest to all lens surgeons, but especially to those in training or already trained who wish to improve their results.
